Skillai - Erasmus+ projekt

Skillai - Erasmus+ projekt

As part of the Peaceful Schools program, the Mushinkai Aikido Association, in cooperation with the local government, provided Aikido education according to the curriculum in three school classes in Zugló. The essence of the experimental Peaceful Warrior module is the fight against school bullying through the basic principles of Aikido.

In 2017, the Mushinkai Aikido Association, in cooperation with a Slovenian (Slovenian Aikiai Federation) and a Dutch (Aikido Bond Nederland) aikido association, received support from the European Commission's Erasmus+ program to summarize the experiences gained in the Peaceful Schools program and to prepare a project based on this English-language Guidelines, to implement the SKILLAI program.

During the two-year project that started in January 2019, the representatives of the participating associations met 4 times in Ljubljana, Amsterdam and Budapest. In addition to the meetings, a children's training took place on three occasions, where the aikido instructors shared their experiences with the help of children living in the organizing country and participating in the program. During the project, the participants created a practical Guideline that is accessible to everyone and can be implemented in training, with the aim of reducing bullying and violence in schools with the help of Aikido. Although the Guidelines are in English, videos have also been made of the exercises, so they are easy to follow for everyone.

The project was completed on July 31, 2021 with a slight delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
